I just feel more comfortable in lavender...

Painted my 3 month old metallic yellow MacNeil Heaton II lavender today with custom spraypaint supplied by Stephane Lavigne. Somebody really should have bought me a Trick Star back in the day so I would be over this.
Woody was and still is my favourite rider of all time, and he had the Hutch with lavender and pink for a while. So nice. All I had back then was a Purple Reign Hutch layback seatpost, and lavender Comp ST tires.
I still would love a set of Lavender Tuffs with a coaster brake. For Dizz.
Seriously, I've been trying to convince Skyway to make graphite Tuffs with a cassette hub so I could run a 25 / 9 ratio on mags. I'm buying those.

BMX is Dead! (flatlined?)

Two events over the last few weeks. The first was the UAB second anniversary party. Low turnout, flatlanders rode all day without paying and didn't want to enter.
The first KOQ was this weekend in Trois Rivieres. Central Park might be closing down, and this may have been the last contest there. About 30 riders entered, with another thirty watching rather than entering. Weird. Three flatlanders rode, I think without paying, and didn't want to enter a contest.
So, I've been involved in two events this year so far, and the flatland contests didn't happen. Why bother? It is so much easier to abort on flatland. There are prizes to be won, and an overall bike to be awarded to the KOQ. Maybe we'll just skip flatland?
I love flatland, but if you put together events and no one wants to participate, it is a bit troubling and disheartening. It definitely doesn't make me want to put more effort in. You guys can just run your own events. That's cool.Have fun!

Short and sweet: the KOQ 2006 flyer! Thanks to David Berube!
